FX has set the cast and timeline for the next installment of the Emmy-winning series Shōgun. Season 2 of Shōgun will pick up a decade after the events of Season 1. Hiroyuki Sanada reprises his role as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, while Cosmo Jarvis reprises his role as John Blackthrone. Behind the scenes, Sanada’s role has expanded from producer to executive producer, while Jarvis joins the creative team as a co-executive producer. No other official casting has been announced as of yet. Sanada will executive produce alongside co-creators and showrunners Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, Michaela Clavell, Edward L. McDonnell and Michael De Luca. The second season of Shōgun will begin production in Vancouver starting in January of 2026.
