A photographer captured eerie footage of a McDonald’s located within a naval base on an Alaskan island and abandoned since 1994, and the internet can’t stop talking about the rock-bottom prices. Chris Luckhardt posted a photo to his private Instagram which shows the Adak Island restaurant’s menu stuck in time. Though originally taken in January 2023, the picture has recently gone viral due to McDonald’s escalating prices , which resulted in the chain pledging to make its food more affordable in 2024. A supposed Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow, Scotland has been forced to refund its customers, who branded the exhibit a “farce” for all the wrong reasons. House of Illuminati, which organized "Willy's Chocolate Experience," was charging up to €35 (about $38) for an “immersive experience” based on the  Timothée Chalamet musical Wonka , itself an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . Dune: Part Two star Timothée Chalamet revealed in a recent New York Times interview the two pieces of advice Leonardo DiCaprio gave him in regards to his acting career. “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good,” Chalamet explained when asked if he’d had the opportunity to play superheroes. While noting that he’s followed both pieces of DiCaprio’s advice to date, the Wonka star said it was a caped crusader who first inspired him to get into the business. “The movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, The Dark Knight ,” he said. Frightening video captured on a golf course in Ave Maria, FL shows a cart full of players narrowly avoiding the hungry jaws of a pouncing alligator. Lindsay Saban, a local meteorologist with WINK News , posted the video to her Facebook page . The footage was captured by another guest at the golf club, Denise Pruse, from behind the safety of the pool’s chain link fence. It shows the alligator, seemingly about five feet in length, slowly stalking through the grass between bungalows. It’s trying to make its way back to the pond, which is separated from the grass by a cement walkway. The unlucky cart passes just as the gator is right in the middle of the walkway. It strikes out at the driver, who swerves to miss the beast and inadvertently drives down the hillside leading to the pond. It appears the two occupants managed to escape without injury, while the gator shook off the encounter and continued to the water. Apple is pushing back on an age-old tradition for drying out your iPhone. The company updated its support tips for drying out a wet iPhone, bluntly telling consumers, “Don’t put your iPhone in a bag of rice.” For many years, putting a soggy iPhone in a bag of rice was the sure-fire way to ensure your device lived to see another day. But Apple is saying that this trick, while useful at eradicating moisture, can also damage your phone. Apple says that putting your phone in a bag of rice for any amount of time “could allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone.” Particles of rice could get into the charging port, making it impossible to charge your phone even when it does dry out. Additionally, the company advises against using compressed air or external heat sources to dry out your device for the same reasons. Women have always been taught that men have an easier time building muscle , but when it comes to the cardiovascular benefits of exercise, the fairer sex have a leg up. This is according to a new study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology , which found that women gain more overall benefits from doing the same amount of physical activity as men. In coming up with the findings, researchers from the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles analyzed the physical activity data of 412,413 adults in the United States who responded to the National Health Interview Survey database between 1997 and 2019. Participants provided details about the frequency, duration, intensity, and type of physical activity they engaged in during cardiovascular exercise. The National Park Service administers much more than just our gorgeous national parks. The agency is in charge of all sorts of sites including national monuments, seashores, preserves, recreation areas, and more, all of which bring in hundreds of millions of visitors every year.  The NPS just released its visitation numbers for 2023, which include a 4 percent increase in visits from 2022 to a total of 325.5 million recreation visits last year. Once again, the Blue Ridge Parkway , which runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and Virginia, took the top spot for the most recorded visits last year. In total, the Parkway saw approximately 16.75 million visits in 2023.  Surprisingly, only one entry in the top 10 most visited NPS sites is a proper national park.
