Actor David Harris, who appeared in dozens of television and film roles throughout his decades-long career but was best known for the 1979 cult classic The Warriors , died from cancer at his home in New York City last week. He was 75. His daughter, Davina Harris, confirmed his death to the New York Times on Sunday. Harris was born in New York City on June 18, 1949 and attended the High School of Performing Arts. Pain is subjective. Chronic low back pain might be debilitating for some and merely a nuisance to others. Turns out there's a biological component to how men and women ameliorate pain, according to new research from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine reveals men and women utilize different biological systems to relieve pain. The study, published in the journal PNAS Nexus , utilized a double-blind, counterbalanced study design comprising two distinct clinical trials. American single malt has been around for decades, but it still doesn’t have the legal definition that other American whiskeys like bourbon and rye have. Distillers and whiskey fans thought that was about to change a few years ago when the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB, the federal agency in charge of alcohol) took up the matter.  To this date, there are still no set guidelines in place. Healthier eating and portion control is a critical part of any weight loss journey, with exercise making up the other crucial component. It turns out that doing one might actually help with the other.  A new study published Oct. 24 in the Journal of the Endocrine Society outlines what researchers found when investigating the link between exercise intensity and production of ghrelin, a hunger hormone that increases our drive to eat. The small trial involved 14 participants as scientists observed how exercise sessions affected their appetite.  "We found that high-intensity exercise suppressed ghrelin levels more than moderate-intensity exercise. In addition, we found that individuals felt 'less hungry' after high-intensity exercise compared to moderate-intensity exercise," study lead author Kara Anderson told Men's Health . On October 24, Sazerac Company announced an online auction where whiskey fans can bid for a chance to earn some of the brand's most coveted bourbons like George T. Stagg, Double Eagle Very Rare, and Blanton's.  In partnership with online spirits retailer BlockBar, Sazerac's auction will raise funds for the American Red Cross's relief efforts for those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The complaints come on the heels of reports of moldy snack kits that have turned up on social media over the past week. TMZ reports that as of Friday, more than 10 consumers have reported unspecified issues with the product. But at least one complaint claimed that someone became ill after consuming one of the meals. The federal agency says that it is currently reviewing all submissions while it makes the determination whether an advisory will be need to be issued to protect the public health of consumers.
