The whisky was selected from a small batch of casks from the last warehouse on the original distillery site, Warehouse 11 (the distillery was demolished then rebuilt in 1973, before a fire ravaged it in 1989). The Scotch was made with local spring water from the Ben Rinnes and barley sourced from the fields around the distillery. After the distillation process, the liquid was first aged in ex-American oak, then ex-European oak casks, a process called double cask maturation. Just 130 bottles have been filled.
