86-Year-Old Powerlifter Brian Winslow (60KG) Sets Deadlift Record of 77.5-Kilograms (170.8-Pounds)

Brian Winslow, aka “the U.K.’s oldest weightlifter,” brings extra meaning to the saying, ‘age is just a number.’ In a strength context, it appears anyone can push themselves in the gym at any age . Wilson’s feat is the latest example of experienced powerlifting peers displaying expectation-defying abilities. During the 2023 British Drug-Free Powerlifting Championships on Mar. 18, the 86-year-old Winslow captured a 77.5-kilogram (170.8-pound) raw deadlift . The Best Slim Wallets for Men in 2023

Ditch that hamburger-sized behemoth and get one of these modern, minimalist wallets instead. The best slim wallets for men reimagine what everyday carry looks (and feels) like. Why schlep a bevy of  cards ,  cash , and receipts? Lightening the load is liberating.   If you're like most men, you've probably got a leather bifold busting at the seams and maybe even a money clip stuffed with bills because you can't fit everything in one place. It's time to streamline and invest in something new. Minimalist wallets cut down on what you carry around because of the simple fact there's less pack it with stuff you don't need. Like cleaning out your closet, this forces you to edit down to the bare essentials. No more business cards you'll never hand out, expired coupons, or sandwich shop loyalty cards. Changing traditional leather for metal—common with many lighter wallets today—slims things down, too, while offering excellent strength-to-weight ratio. But what if...

Rauno Heinla Withdraws From 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man

Rauno Heinla , Estonian strongman and Masters Deadlift World Record holder (476 kilograms/1,049.4 pounds), has withdrawn from the 2023 Europe’s Strongest Man (ESM) . A news release on The Giants Live Instagram page noted that Heinla suffered an undisclosed “illness,” leading to the withdrawal. Heinla’s ESM exit follows the departure of rising strongman star Pavlo Nakonechnyy roughly a week prior as he tries to get healthy for the annual World’s Strongest Man (WSM) . The 2023 ESM contest is just around the corner on Apr. 1 in Leeds, England, and, at the time of this article’s publication, there does not appear to be a replacement for Heinla on the now 13-person roster. How Much Should a Good Bottle of Wine Cost?

Sommeliers weigh in on the enigmatic world of wine pricing—and pick the best bottles for your buck. One of the most common questions sommeliers get asked is “what’s the tipping point between a cheap bottle of wine and a good one?” The short answer? “Anything below $15 is a value wine,” says James Fairbrother, sommelier at Ardesia Wine Bar in New York City. “Bottles between $15 to $30 are an approachable sweet spot, and above $30 start to feel like a premium—with the exception of certain appellations like Burgundy that, even at the low end, are likely above $25.” You’ll be hard pressed to find a worthwhile bottle under $10, he says, since “wine is an agricultural product that requires a lot of work to produce.” Factors that affect wine pricing are complex. Aged wines in oak barrels are more expensive than wines produced with oak chips, says Fairbrother. Pinot noir is a finicky grape compared to merlot, which is robust and does well in most places. Difficult terrain that’s harder t...
