Just last month, Jake Knapp became just the 15th player in PGA Tour history to break 60 with a first round 59 at the Cognizant Classic.
"I knew obviously I had it going really early, but at the same time, that can happen and then it can kind of fizzle out pretty quick," Knapp said after the round. "I thought I did a good job of just trying to focus on shot by shot and not letting what happened or what could happen affect anything."
"Then once I made the long putt on 15, it was like, OK, now this is kind of here. I didn't really think about it (on 18), to be honest with you. I think you start thinking about it too much, you're just going to add pressure to something that's very unnecessary."
Nearly two months after his historic round, Knapp and partner Frankie Capan III came very close to combining for a 59 at the Zurich Classic. In four-ball on Saturday, April 26, the duo combined for a 12-under, 60 with 12 birdies and six pars on the round to sit just three shots off the lead held by Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin.
With another impressive round on Sunday, Knapp could earn the second victory of his young PGA Tour career while Capan is going for win No. 1. As the duo prepare for their fourth and final round, Knapp's girlfriend Makena White is stealing the spotlight.
"One thing about me is I’ll rev up the red #gosensgo," she said in a recent post celebrating the Ottawa Senators, who staved off elimination against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 4-3 overtime win on April 26.

"Sens in the playoffs = HAPPY GIRL ❤️," Knapp said in response to his girlfriend's post.
He and Capan tee off on Sunday, April 27 at 1:55 p.m. ET.
