Kelsey Plum Takes Shot at Caitlin Clark's All-Star Team Over 'Pay Us' Shirts

The WNBA All-Star Game took place on Saturday night, and the players showed unity amid collective bargaining agreement negotiations with T-shirts the ladies wore before tip-off.

The shirts read "Pay Us What You Owe Us," which is a message to the WNBA as players seek higher wages in the next CBA.

However, the unity dissolved a bit after the game, when Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum said that Team Clark, the All-Star roster chosen by Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, was not involved in the meeting for the T-shirts.

"As players, we didn't know that was going to happen," Plum revealed in a press conference. "So, I think it was kind of a genuine surprise. The T-shirt, just a united front, was determined this morning that we had a meeting for.

"Not to tattletale but zero members of Team Clark were very present for that," Plum added with a laugh.

New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, who was sitting next to Plum at the press conference, was clearly uncomfortable with Plum's revelation.

"That really needed to be mentioned," Ionescu said sarcastically.

One has to wonder if Plum would have mentioned that if Clark wasn't the captain of the opposing All-Star team. Her comment certainly isn't going to erase the notion that some WNBA players are jealous of the Fever star over her immense popularity.

This isn't the first time Plum has shown what could be perceived as jealousy. Last month, Plum saw a fan wearing a Clark shirt on the sideline during a shootaround before requesting the fan remove it for a Sparks shirt.

"You can’t wear that in the gym. What is this?” Plum said to the fan, before telling her that she needs to "do better."

Clark has played a big role in the growing popularity of the sport, and that in and of itself could help players get what they're looking for, or at least something close to it.

Clark did not suit up in the WNBA All-Star Game after suffering another groin injury recently. Team Collier ended up defeating Team Clark, 151-131.
