Driver Who Posted Videos of Himself Speeding 107mph Gets Busted

Police in Seattle have finally apprehended a driver who has been making life hell for thousands of city residents with reckless driving and noise, even filming himself driving at over 100 miles per hour.

Miles Oliver Hudson, 20, is facing criminal charges filed by the Seattle City Attorney's Office, after police helped identify him from a Reddit thread with hundreds of comments. Residents have been complaining that Hudson tears around the city in his Dodge Challenger Hellcat in the middle of the night, waking them up with the sound of his loud exhaust.

"A single person is disturbing the sleep of tens of thousands of Belltown residents," the author of the post explained. "This should be a slam dunk for SPD and the council to address, especially as the offender has posted all the evidence on their Instagram account."

In fact, that's exactly what happened. Police were able to identify his car from his Instagram account, which currently boasts nearly 700,000 followers, and pull him over for speeding last week. In one post, Hudson could be seen reaching a speed of 107 miles per hour while street racing another driver.

"On this page, there were photos of what appeared to be the exact same vehicle that Hudson owns," the police report states, which was obtained by Seattle's KOMO News. It had the same vinyl wrap in the same color, with the same wide body kit, and the same tiger stripe/hellcat logos."

"I asked Hudson why he didn’t just go to a racetrack to utilize his vehicle there," the officer who made out the report continued. "He stated that he had 'almost 700,000 followers' on his social media, and that the amount of money he makes on filming his videos of him in his vehicle on the street has paid for the car."

Apparently, Hudson told the officer: "I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. I’m going to make a career out of this."

Given the amount of attention Hudson draws to himself with his antics, it's unclear how far he will get with that. In the meantime, he's been charged with two misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, in addition to "several other traffic infractions," and is scheduled to be arraigned in Seattle Municipal Court on April 9.
