How the Las Vegas Sphere Is Celebrating the City's Upcoming Super Bowl

The matchup for Super Bowl LVIII is now set in stone, after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday's AFC championship and the San Francisco 49ers delivered a heartbreak to the Detroit Lions in the NFC championship. The upcoming game will take place in Las Vegas for the first time ever, coincidentally less than a year after the Vegas Sphere opened in 2023.

And not surprisingly, it didn't take long for the larger-than-life venue to celebrate the two teams who will meet at Allegiant Stadium in two weeks.

"The 49ers and Chiefs are heading to Vegas!" the official NFL X account posted early Monday, along with a short video of the Sphere lit up with the Super Bowl LVIII title flanked by logos of the two teams.

This will mark the second time in five years that San Francisco and Kansas City will go head to head in a Super Bowl, after the Chiefs beat the 49ers at Super Bowl LIV in 2020. In fact, this will mark the fourth time the Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl in as many years, most recently defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.

In addition to hyping the Super Bowl, the Sphere is also poised to generate considerable advertising revenue leading up to the big game, as tourists flock to the city. Game day prices are reportedly ranging from $1.5 million to $2 million—similar to other big advertising days such as New Year’s Eve—compared to a 30-second TV spot that runs around $7 million during the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LVIII will take place in Paradise, NV on Feb. 11, 2024, just a few miles down the road from the Vegas Sphere.
