Researchers at Erlangen-Nürnberg University in Germany found that zinc—a mineral found in oysters, beef, and lobster—in combination with an organic compound called quinol that’s found in chocolate (as well as in coffee and tea) can protect the body from oxidative stress, a naturally occurring process of cellular breakdown that accelerates aging.
